Most of the action of the famous Don Quixote written by Cervantes takes place around Alcazar de San Juan.

Alcazar de San Juan is full of emblematic places to visit. It has a rich civil and religious patrimony. The city hall was built in 1850 in a neoclassic style and features a colossal façade and marble stairs. Iglesia de Santa Maria La Mayor is the oldest church in Alcazar. This church was probably built in the place of an ancient mosque.
