Catanzaro is a city in Calabria, Italy. It is the capital of the province of Catanzaro and also of the whole region of Calabria.
The town rises on a rock and splits into two parts by the steep Fiumarella valley, the two sections being connected by a huge concrete steel bridge among the built in 1960. The beach side neighbourhood Catanzaro Lido, located about 5 kilometres away, has a wide walkway and a harbour for small fishing and pleasure boats.
