Ferrerias is situated on the Island of Menorca, one of Balearic Islands. Its name is derived from the Spanish word for Blacksmith: “Ferrer”. Ferrerias dates from the 18th century. Sant Bartomeu is the main building in this town that is composed of typical houses with white facades. There is a market every Saturday morning on Ferrerias’ town square where visitors can find traditionally made food such as local cheeses, charcuterie, cakes and biscuits. Typical Menorca shoes are also sold in this market. Ferrerias is famous for its industries amongst which footwear factories, jewellery and furniture are the most important. It is possible to purchase their goods in one of their showrooms in town.
