Gallipoli is a lovely coastal town where visitors will find one of the most beautiful beaches of Italy. Gallipoli Peninsula is dominated by high hills. It is a major bird migration routes from Europe to Africa. Gallipoli Peninsula Park covers 330km2; it has been established in 1973 in the southern end of the peninsula. Among points of interest, Gallipoli area has several archaeological sites dating from 4000BC. It also houses forts, bastions, trenches and other world war related items. In 1994, a forest fire uncovered Anzac war graves. The “Anzac Walk” takes visitors around the 1915 Anzac battlefield.
