Marina di Gioiosa Jonica is located in Calabria, at 70 km Southwest of Catanzaro. This town history dates back from the Roman, Magno Greco era. It features the remains of a roman amphitheatre and an Angevin type Tower. The Festival of La Madonna del Carmine takes place every year on the 3rd Sunday of August in Marina di Gioiosa Jonica. This festival starts in the morning with a procession. “Festa di San Roco” festival is held on the first of September. During the day, locals and tourist dance and at night, there is a flea market.
