Tolna is a hilly county in The South of Hungary. This wonderful region boasts the forest of Gemenc, a world famous site that attracts nature lovers and hunters. Visitors in Tolna County will find many points of interests and attractions such as the Castle of Pipo, a gothic castle located in the village of Ozora, the Gyula Illyés Memorial Museum and Mihály Babits Memorial Museum located in Szekszárd. History and architecture lovers should visit Bataszec where they will find ruins of the first Cistercian abbey and Dombovar housing the Castle of storks. There are more castles in Tolna County including Dunaföldvár and Simontornya Castles. Furthermore, many folk artists work in Tolna County including potters, wood carvers, applied folk artists and blue dyers. Visitors shouldn’t miss a visit at the honey cake, candle and sweet museum in Szekszárd. This museum exhibits the various methods of making honey cakes, sweets and bee wax candles.
